It is important to keep a copy of this appointment received in electronic format or hard copy, to enable supply if and when requested.
The page provides a template of the document for appointment as Designated Agent.
The Designated Agent is a person or entity expressly authorised by both the previous and current registrant to approve, on their behalf, the update to data of a gtld domain.
At the end of the procedure, both the new and previous registrant will receive a notification email confirming successful completion of the operation, summarising the data prior to the update and the new data supplied. As required in the latest Icann policies, the organisation that decides on the rules for managing domains com net and org, it will not be possible to transfer the domain to another registrar within 60 days of the change to ownership.
A change of ownership includes one year’s maintenance and all the services normally offered with registration. Please note that the annual fee is charged on completion of the change of ownership, not when the request is sent. For .eu and .es domains, if this process is carried out at the same time as a change of registrar (domain transfer) one year’s domain maintenance fee will be charged when the order is placed. For .com, .net, .org, .es and .eu domains maintained by Nominalia, a one year valid term will be added starting on expiration date of the domain.
You will be charged for a change of ownership if you need to change owner’s registered name (or name and address in case of individuals) or if the tax information changes. There are no fees for making other changes.
Domain transfers take between two and three business days to complete from the time the documentation is received. If it is taking longer, resend the signed form and ask for help tracking the status of your application from the control panel.
